If you’re not privy to the world of automotive finance terminology, you may hear “0% APR” and have no clue what anyone's talking about. Fortunately, the concept is simple: all it means is that, for a set period, you won’t pay any interest on the financing you secured for a vehicle. You only ever see this kind of deal through an automaker’s financing arm like Ford Motor Credit or GM Financial because it’s a tool used by automakers to move vehicles that are overstocked.

Since EVs are currently sitting on dealer lots, we wanted to compile a list of the best low or no-APR deals to show you how accessible a new EV can be. The things to keep in mind are that you’ll need a pretty flawless credit score to qualify, and it’s likely the dealer will require a higher-than-average down payment. On top of this, your monthly payment may be higher, so if you’re ballin' on a budget, this may not be the deal for you, and we’d rather point you in the direction of some killer leasing deals on current EVs. As always, all of these deals end on the last day of this month, and it’s best to check with your local dealer to ensure it will honor them.

1 2024 Kia EV6 - Impressive, But Expensive

• No down payment

Perhaps Kia's best current offering, the EV6 is the current darling of the electric sedan space. Well, perhaps it straddles more of the crossover/ hatchback space, but in today's day and age, segment lines are being blurred all the time. What matters is that you can get into this EV with no interest for 60 months. Even better, the deal doesn't require a down payment, so if your credit's looking sensational, you can get into this vehicle with just the monthly payment.

The EV6 will then reward you with attractive styling, a spacious interior, and the kind of performance that is sure to bring a smile to your face when things get twisty. Rear-wheel drive models are available with 167 horsepower or 225 hp, and if you upgrade to an all-wheel drive model, you get 320 hp. The maximum range is 310 miles and recharges are quick thanks to the 800-volt architecture. The only downside is the price. You'll pay upwards of $57,000 for the fully loaded models and even more for the high-performance GT.

2 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 - Like An EV6, But With Better Styling

The EV6 isn't going to have all the fun, as its corporate cousin, the Ioniq 5, is also joining the no-interest party for 60 months. This is great because the Ioniq 5 is a little bit cheaper than the EV6, but the downside is that you'll have to pay a down payment depending on your credit situation. If you can afford that, you'll find yourself with another great product based on Hyundai's E-GMP platform, which includes the EV6 and Genesis GV60.

Of the three, the Ioniq 5 offers the most futuristic styling that utilizes many geometric shapes and includes some of the coolest headlights and taillights on any production vehicle today. The available power outputs are the same as the EV6 above, but the Ioniq 5's maximum range is 303 miles. Unfortunately, the highly advanced Ioniq 5 N isn't covered under the deal. The N is not readily available yet, and the dealer markups are insane. We'd recommend waiting a few months for the performance model to become more readily available.

3 2023 Lexus RZ - Refined, But Lacking In Range

• Select Styles: 2023 RZ 450e Luxury AWD and 2023 RZ 450e Premium AWD

The Lexus RZ is available with a 0% APR deal that only applies to 2023 models currently on dealer lots. Fortunately, no down payment is required for offer.

The company must be sitting on a lot of RZ dealer stock, which isn't surprising given its underwhelming range. To preface this, from a looks and luxury standpoint, the RZ is quintessentially Lexus, which means it's well-appointed and luxurious. It also offers solid performance courtesy of either a single front-mounted 201-hp motor or 308-hp from an AWD setup. Unfortunately, the range tops out at 266 miles, and real-world testing has shown it to be even worse.

This isn't up to snuff with other luxury competitors, but if you're drawn to the RZ and understand its limits, you'll still enjoy a great EV experience.

4 2024 Audi Q4 e-tron/Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron - Updated, But Still Compromised

• Select models, new or used: Q4 e-tron 40 RWD, Q4 e-tron 50, Q4 e-tron 55, Q4 Sportback 40 e-tron, and Q4 Sportback 55 e-tron

Audi must be sitting on quite a bit of inventory because these Q4 e-tron models are only a few of the many models the company is currently offering 0.99% APR financing on. This deal applies to new or used models, and no down payment is required. More on this later, but as for these Q5-sized electric siblings, we're not surprised sales have been lagging.

Audi was one of the first legacy automakers to launch electric vehicles, and these cars are starting to show their age.

Pre-facelift models only have 295 hp on tap, but the recent 2024 model year upgrades have increased that figure to 335 horses. The range has improved, too, with the vehicles now offering 258 miles of range with a shorter charging time than before. As is the case with the RZ, you need to go into this deal knowing the car is compromised and that you'll be paying a premium.

5 2024 Nissan Ariya - Sticking It To Premium Cars

The Nissan Ariya is an excellent example of why luxury automakers should be concerned because not only is this crossover attractive, but it offers better performance at a cheaper price. No interest for 72 months is a very good deal, and with the addition of no down payment, you have many options to choose from. Existing Nissan or Infiniti owners can take an extra grand off the top. Besides its attractive looks, the vehicle offers solid performance, with up to 389 horsepower in the Engage+ E-4ORCE trim.

Even the base Engage trim has 214 horsepower, but it's worth remembering that the range is a little all over the place. The Venture+ trim with FWD is going to get you the best combination of power and range with 238 horses and 304 miles, but due to mixing and matching the 87 kWh and 63 kWh battery packs with the different motors and drivetrains, the Ariya's range falls to 205 miles on the Engage E-4ORCE trim. The Venture+ trim is perfect for most people's needs, and that's great because it offers a host of standard features and a starting price of $47,190.

6 2024 Kia Niro EV - Better After A Recent Facelift

We realize the Kia Niro EV is not the best EV around, but thanks to its recent refresh, the model has done a wonderful job of upgrading its looks and performance to an adequate level. You again see no interest for 60 months with no down payment too, meaning if you're an eco-conscious individual looking for a roomy electric vehicle that won't cause too much fuss, this could be the one for you.

As said before, performance is adequate with 201 horsepower on the front wheels and a range of 253 miles. Coming in two trims, both share the same motor and battery pack, so performance isn't going to change at all. This is why we recommend going for the base Wind model, which starts at $40,975, as it offers a great number of standard features like dual-zone climate control and a 10.3-inch touchscreen with navigation.

7 2024 Hyundai Kona Electric - Stylish With Adequate Performance

Hyundai's smallest and cheapest electric vehicle is apparently doing well enough to not warrant a 0% interest rate, but even at 0.99% for 48 months, it's still a relatively good deal, mainly because it starts at a mere $32,675 for 2024. Unfortunately, a down payment will be required.

Thanks to the Kona lineup's recent major update, the Kona Electric has grown on the inside and outside and now sports a futuristic exterior that Hyundai loves to show off in the very loud shade it calls Neoteric Yellow. Performance is just fine with either a 133 horsepower or 201 horsepower front-mounted motor, but opting for the larger motor gets you a 260-mile battery pack, while the former will have to make do with a 200-mile one. The mid-level SEL trim is the one to get, as it's the first trim to get the larger motor and battery, plus more standard features, at a price of just $36,675.

8 2024 Subaru Solterra - The Cheapest Toybaru EV

The Solterra offer gets you no interest for 72 months with no down payment, available for 2023 or 2024 models. Since it's one of the Toyobaru concoctions, Subaru knew it had to sprinkle the model with its signature recipe of body cladding and AWD. Now, power is modest at 215 horsepower and 249 lb-ft of torque, but the company added an off-road mode called X-mode to help on slippery surfaces as well as added "Grip Control" as a kind of hill ascent/descent feature. The range is fine at 222 miles, and charging speed has seen a massive increase. The $49,840 Limited trim is going to give you the best set of features, but if you're not too worried about fancy gizmos, the base $46,340 Premium trim will be good enough for most people's tastes.

9 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E - Get A Bonus For Going Fast

We're happy Ford is offering no interest for 72 months on the Mustang Mach-E because, barring many consumers' frustrations with the model utilizing the Mustang name, the Mach-E is one of the more compelling electric vehicles on the market. Thanks to less interest in its EV offerings than expected, Ford is slashing prices and offering no interest for 72 months on the 2023 Premium Extended Range and GT models, with the former qualifying for $1,000 bonus cash and the latter qualifying for $3,000 bonus cash.

When it comes to which model to choose from, it depends on if your aim is range or performance. If you're looking for the best all-around vehicle, the Premium Extended Range trim is the one you want, as it offers up to 310 miles of range and 290 horsepower in RWD guise or 290 miles of range and 346 horsepower in the AWD version. The GT model is the one to get if you value increased performance as it has an AWD system that produces 480 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque with a still respectable range of 270 miles. Of course, the price difference between the two is $10,000, with the Premium starting at $42,895, so perhaps your budget will have to choose for you.
